We have an exciting opportunity to hear from one of our International Ministries missionaries. Annie Dieselberg will be speaking at the Londonderry (VT) Town Hall on Thursday, July 3 at 7 p.m. Annie and her husband Jeff are missionaries in Bangkok, Thailand, a bustling metropolis of more than 10 million people. Annie and Jeff both serve at NightLight Foundation and NightLight Design Co. Ltd. Annie will be sharing about her ministry with NightLight.
NightLight is an international organization committed to addressing the complex issues surrounding trafficking and prostitution by catalyzing individual and community transformation. NightLight's vision is to offer intervention to sexually exploited women and children, to enable them to discover their dignity, and to provide a program of holistic transformation, empowering them to live and work in their community. NightLight's mission is to build relationships and provide hope, intervention, rescue and assistance to women and children exploited in the sex industry by offering alternative employment through the registered jewelry business NightLight Design, Co. Ltd., as well as vocational opportunities, life-skills training and physical, emotional and spiritual development to women seeking freedom from sexual exploitation. NightLight builds support networks internationally to intervene and assist women, men and children whose lives are negatively impacted by the sex industry. Annie is the founder and CEO of NightLight. Aside from administration, Annie facilitates the outreach in the red-light area, and leads in the prayer and deliverance ministry at NightLight. As an advocate for NightLight and the issues of women exploited in the sex industry, Annie also does a lot of networking and speaking. Please promote this event in your church bulletin and newsletter. The Londonderry Town Hall is located at 139 Middletown Road in South Londonderry, VT. Refreshments will be served. A freewill offering will be received to support Annie and Jeff. Annie is the daughter of Rev. Vern and Dathene Stanley, former IM missionaries to Africa and South America, who now live in southern Vermont.

It will be located at the site of the new building, 62 Crescent Street in South Londonderry, rain or shine. In August of 2010, the former church building was completely destroyed by a fire. This brick building stood on the hill for 176 years. While we have mourned and reminisced over the loss of our building, our church is strong and growing. We are very excited to be starting construction on the new building this summer. While we are and always will be the First Baptist Church, we envision our building as a community church. It is designed as a place for group meetings, community meals, and events. For more information about our church and our building project, please check our rebuilding page. At this point we have enough funds from insurance and donations to begin this building project; however, with the rising costs of building, we do not yet have enough to finish the project. We're planning on leaving sections of the building unfinished and delaying putting a steeple on the building. With your help, we can complete this building project! If you want to make a contribution or donation of labor and/or materials, you can send them to P.O. Box 278, South Londonderry, VT 05155, or you can donate online at our website. |
